Openings at EMC

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site(s). Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation.
• Provides proactive recommendations to the customer for improving storage operations and/or effective use of EMC storage solutions to help maximize their satisfaction with EMC.
• Actively contributes to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of storage infrastructure.
• Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's storage disaster recovery process as required.
• Represents EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel at all times. May be required to support and train both customers and less experienced co-workers.
• Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance and necessary data migration, as required.
• Performs other duties as required. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

1. Storage Area Network (SAN):
• Hands on experience of working on EMC (DMX,VMAX) and/or Intermediate HDS Lighting line of products.
• Experience of working in large fabric environments (Broacade or Cisco)
• Zoning, troubleshooting, day to day administration
• Strong expertise on EMC/HDS replication products (BCV, SRDF, True Copy, Shadow image)
• Should be good at storage provisioning ( mapping, masking, zoning )
• Experience in troubleshooting issues related to multi-pathing software on host end ( Power-Path, DMP, etc)

2. Network Area Storage (NAS):
• Hands on experience on NetApp NFS Administration (netgroup), CIFS administration & permissions, Volume / Aggregate
administration, Snap-mirror & Snap-vault administration
• NFS / CIFS / AD / NIS level troubleshooting for data availability
• Storage clustering and High Availability management
• Disaster recovery within NAS environment.
• vFiler administration and troubleshooting.
• Network, routing and VIF set-up and troubleshooting.
• NDMP Backup administration, ONTAP upgrade
• Multiprotocol Set-up and administration
• Troubleshooting in multiprotocol environment
• De-duplication

3. Data Domain (DD):
• Document system architecture, configuration, monitoring and support processes across the Data Domain DD880 Appliances.
• Verify that the environment meets all hardware and software requirements via pre-engagement questionnaires.
• Create Data Domain architecture design, configuration and training documentation that meets the business and IT requirements, goals, expectations, and success parameters associated with the engagement.
• Configure, document, implement and support replication processes on Data Domain Appliances.
• Configure, document, implement and support Data Domain Global Deduplication array functionality (If Applicable).
• Configure, document, implement and support optional license keys as purchased.
• Configure, document, implement and support system functionality.
• Configure, document, implement and support auto support and alerts sending and submitting Customer support ID information.
• Create and document and conduct basic system Functional Overview.
• Define, document and implement training, support and knowledge transfer plans across operational support teams.
• Create, document and implement best practices capacity & performance management model throughout all levels of DD architecture i.e. I/O rates for reads, writes and de-duplication.

4. Veritas Netbackup :

• NETBACKUP Commands & Architecture
• Trouble-shooting client-side issues in Netbackup environment.
• Troubleshooting of failed drives and stuck tapes.
• Administration of ACSLS, IBM Tape Library
• Administration and troubleshooting of VTL/SIR/Data Domain
• Administration of Storage Lifecycle policies.
• Data Restoration using Netbackup
• Knowledge of Unix and Windows Operating environment in enterprise environment.
• Hands on experience of Netbackup in clustered environment.
